The churchyard at Christ Church, Seaham contains two memorials - for the 1871 and the 1880 disasters, contained within a garden of remembrance. The garden was at one stage very overgrown and the text on the memorials unreadable, however local miners contributed to a fund to have the garden and the memorials restored - the text on the memorials has been highlighted - as can be seen from our photographs.
