A series of images from around the area of the site of Wearmouth Colliery - now occupied by "The Stadium of Light" - the home of Sunderland A.F.C. The first series of images show the Miners' Lamp at the entrance to the stadium, the second the new (August 2001) memorial to those that worked at Wearmouth Colliery, and the last is the "Men of Steel" to mark the heavy industries that used to occupy the landscape in Sunderland - Mining and Shipbuilding.
